Collection and Recovery Solutions 2007 offers a wealth of educational opportunity, expressly targeted for operational executives involved in collection and recovery operations and strategy, with quality presenters discussing timely topics from Regulatory and Legislative changes, Bankruptcy Case Law, Debt Sales Operations and Strategies, Strategic use of Technology and our ever popular Creditor Round Table sessions, addressing collection and recovery operational issues.

Key Note Session: Managing within the Tornado/Ignition Strategies for Leadership
How often does it feel as if our business lives are lived in a tornado, managing internal operations, internal constituencies, and external recovery operations. It’s really about people and relationships. Getting things done with and thru others is the greatest challenge we have in business today. Michael Hoffman will kick off our conference with a high-energy audience participation session as we step into the tornado.

11:15 AM - 12:00 PM Legislative Update – Will review State and Federal legislative changes and forecasts related to Compliance, FDCPA, Privacy, and Data Security issues.

Bankruptcy Update – A review of the evolving Bankruptcy Case Law and the related Operational issues, with emphasis on strategies that Secured and Unsecured Creditors might implement to address the challenges and opportunities presented. We welcome back Henry E. Hildebrand III, Chapter 13 Trustee from the Middle District of Tennessee and Alane Becket, Partner in the firm Becket & Lee, LLP. Moderated by Don Hill. Melyssa Barrett of Visa USA, and Carolyn Brown, Nissan Motor Acceptance Corporation will provide an Operational Perspective.


Debt Sales Track Agenda

A panel discussion of Debt Sales Strategy, including sales philosophy, stake-holder communication and involvement, inventory identification, scoring and segmentation, sales file structure and security, identifying and communicating with sales partners, due diligence, bid process and contract negotiations.
3:15 PM - 4:00 PM The Buyers Perspective: Age, Quality, Media, and Price
A panel discussion of purchase strategy and concerns to further the understanding of how a Debt Buyer views the information available on portfolios listed for sale. This includes the age and type of accounts, the type of internal and external pre-sale collection efforts that have occurred, and the availability and accessibility of supporting documentation for the accounts included.
4:00 PM - 4:45 PM Post Sale Issues and Solutions
A panel discussion of Creditors and Debt Buyers, reviewing post-sale issues. This will include provisions for post-sales communications, bankrupt accounts, buy-backs or account replacements, support and fulfillment of media requests, and dispute resolution.

Technology Strategies – How can you enhance and improve your operation by managing and integrating available and evolving technology in the fields of Scoring, Analytics, Skiptracing, Communication, and Payment Solutions? A panel discussion as three Skip vendors review the same two portfolios and discuss the results and their suggested strategies for use of the information identified.
4:00 PM - 4:45 PM Skip Trace Solution – The Users Perspective
The client’s perspective is added to the above panel as the strategy session continues. The discussion will include expected results and how the client might integrate the skip results into their contact and collection strategy.
